的 interdisciplinary work of artist 茱莉亚Haft-C和ell comprises ceramic 和 bronze sculptures, 素描和油画, 和安装. Her evolving entity known as 无限的 is an alternative world with its own, values, ethics, 和 visual language; all documented in 无限的: 术语表 of Terms 和 Symbols. 无限的 seeks to produce forms of knowledge unconstrained by conventional systems or classifications, while referencing ancient structures of communication. 这种精神体现在 无限学派, the experimental art school that she runs from her studio, which seeks to produce alternative forms of knowledge that challenge conventional institutional practices 和 pedagogies.

无限 is central to the exhibition at Pitzer College Art Galleries 和 unravels across two sites titled 的 Yet To Be—第一部分:手/触角Part 2: 无限图书馆. 陶瓷作品 第一部分:手/触角 manifest h和s interlocking with motifs of knots, 链, 和 infinity symbols carved onto their surface. 的se works articulate her evolving 术语表 和 are explored in image 和 text-based drawings 和 a stop-motion animation. Part 2: 无限图书馆 制定一个 参与空间. Shelving doubles as seating 和 is stocked with books selected by over forty-five artists. Functioning as a respite for collective 和 solitary contemplation, with the generative ethos of 无限的, the library will host readings, 讨论, 和 conversations on art theory 和 practice, 科幻小说和工艺, as well as building alternative frameworks throughout the exhibition. A third component of the exhibition, taking the form of an archive documenting the history, 哲学, 和工作 无限学派, further elucidates Haft-C和ell’s conception of 无限的.

包含在 无限图书馆 are two central texts inspirational to Haft-C和ell’s thinking—Octavia Butler’s post-apocalyptical novel 撒种的比喻 (1993)和厄休拉K. 勒奎恩富有远见的文章 的 Carrier Bag 的ory of Fiction (1986). In Butler’s future, dramati呼叫y impacted by climate change, the protagonist goes in search of Earthseed, a religion whose God shape-shifts through individual worship. While Butler reimagines the future, Le Guin reinterprets the human origin story by replacing the spear as the first tool with a carrier bag—for gathering 和 distributing food, 对象, 和 stories for sharing—attributing community building as foundational rather than singular (heroic) aggression. In privileging storytelling as a creative force, 勒吉恩提醒我们, as Donna Haraway has remarked, that “it matters what stories we tell to tell other stories with; it matters what concepts we think to think other concepts with,”[1] values embedded in Haft-C和ell’s 无限的.
